Am I alive?

I feel the beat of a heart

The pulse in my arm

But I feel dead inside

My eyes see but are empty

My mind works but is on auto

My hands touch but don’t feel

I feel dead inside

Nothing I do thrills me

Nothing I see excites me

Nothing I touch evokes me

I am dead inside

So what can I do?

I breathe

I see

I touch

But I am dead
