The Child in Me

 I am an adult

But feel like a child

More freedom I had

Then ever in a while

 

Decisions made for me

But by thee

I can not stand this

Feeling in me

 

I am an adult

Treat me as one

I am an equal

As equal as thee

 

Inside I scream

Let me be free

But alas I know

Free I’ll never be

 

So the adult I’ll be

Treated like a child by thee

For the days too come

For eternity
